FEMA – FEMA’s mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

Wisconsin Emergency Management – WEM efforts are coordinated with local, state, tribal and federal agencies, as well as volunteer and private sector partners. We support 72 Wisconsin counties and bring emergency management services to the state's 5.6 million citizens.

Ready Wisconsin – In February 2003 the US Homeland Security Department launched the Ready campaign. It is a national public service advertising campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies, including natural and technological disasters and potential terrorist attacks. The goal of the national campaign is to get the public involved and ultimately to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation.

ReadyWisconsin is our state’s counterpart to the national campaign. ReadyWisconsin asks individuals to do four key things:

• Get an emergency supply kit
• Make a family emergency plan
• Be informed about the different types of emergencies that could occur and their appropriate responses
• Get involved in emergency preparedness and response in their own communities
